Associate Professor Dr Muhammad Yazid Jalaludin is currently The Head of Department of Paediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, University Malaya. He is also a Consultant Paediatrician and Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist at the University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) and an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University Malaya. He completed his fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), USA after obtaining his MBBS and Masters in Paediatrics, both from University Malaya.

He is currently the President of the Malaysian Paediatric Association (MPA) and President Elect of the Asia Pacific Paediatric Endocrine Society (APPES). He is also a member of The Endocrine Society USA, International Society for Paediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD) and Malaysian Endocrine and Metabolic Society (MEMS).

Dr Jalaludin main research interest is in growth (nutrition), obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus, and vitamin D in children. He is one of the Principal Investigator (Clinical) for MyBFF@school project, co-PI for MyHeARTs and co-investigator in Co-PoWR and DEWI projects which directly involved with childhood obesity research in schools and community. He also holds many national and international research grants. He acts as Scientific Advisor for many multicentre international researches for type 2 diabetes in children. His work has been published in various academic journals and as textbook chapters. He had previously received Travel Grant Awards to the ISPAD Meetings in Slovenia (2009), Argentina (2010) and Turkey (2012), as well as to the Endocrine Society's 91st Annual Meeting in Washington DC, USA (2009) where he was awarded the winner of the Presidential Poster Presentation. He also won the Best Poster Presentation at the ISPAD Meeting 2012, in Istanbul, Turkey. In 2013, he was appointed as the Kesatria (Ambassador) by Malaysian Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) for his work in elevating Malaysia's business tourism through scientific conferences.
