Dr Rokiah Ismail is currently the Head of Department of Dietetics, University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC). She is also a Senior Clinical Dietitian at UMMC. She attained her Bsc of Dietetics from National University of Malaysia, Master in Medical Sciences at University of Malaya and completed her PhD in Public Health Nutrition at The Institute of Health & Society, Faculty of Medicine, Newcastle University, UK. 

Dr Rokiah spent 24 years in the field of Dietetics and Nutrition and has more than 15 years of working experience in the pediatric field especially in children with diabetes. Her main interest is in pediatric nutrition, childhood obesity, type 1 and type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. She was also involved in the development of Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) Guidelines for Type 2 Diabetes (2005) under Malaysian Dietitians' Association.
